![]() The tracks look eh, but being a racing game I don't really care tbh. The headlights look fantastic for the most part, just a shame that the shadows that other cars in your headlights cast are low resolution. The car models look incredible, along with the dashboard and windscreen reflections and shadows. ![]() It's a damn beautiful looking game, with the usual cuts in parts that GT has always made cuts, but thankfully with the power levels we're at and graphical fidelity they're much less of a problem now. ![]() Also from DF I expected a much more in-depth dive, this feels surface level in ways. Great looking game still/overall and I'm not saying FH5 looks better or anything, I have no idea, I just expected a comparison rather than just going wow, it looks better than the last game in the series, like duh. For track design they still don't compare but seem to preemptively downplay differences saying closed tracks inherently don't have the wonder of an open world, as if elements like asphalt, gravel, roadside dirt, rocks, grass, trees, objects, details, aren't comparable. ![]() It's pretty weird they only compare it to previous GT games rather than contemporary racing games like FH5 since they praised its car detailing also. And for all their zooming in rep, they don't mention some pretty bad lod switching which to me was especially evident in that one iconic track or whatever they said is fully remade here implying but not stating it looks better than the remastered tracks, yet when approaching the tunnel the terrain over it pops detail and the concrete part's detailing does too. When they praise the shadows from headlights they look bad to me, fuzzy/low res and moving in steps. ![]()
